80' Sunseeker
An 80' Sunseeker yacht sank in 65 feet of water off St. Augustine Beach after striking a dredge marker, causing significant damage to the bow. The vessel sank stern down, with the bow breaching the surface. TowBoatU.S. Fort Lauderdale’s salvage team responded quickly aboard their 96’ salvage vessel, Richard L. Becker, deploying oil containment boom to prevent environmental damage and mobilizing equipment and crew for a deep-water recovery. Using a crane barge, the yacht was carefully refloated, dewatered with high-capacity pumps, and secured on the barge for transport to shore to be inspected.
