Tug Shillelagh and TowBoatU.S. Launch have been Refit
Ready for The Next Ten Years!
The talented shop crew at TowBoatU.S. Fort Lauderdale, led by Shop Supervisor Jeff Hamilton has been hard at work for months refitting two of the company’s assets. The Tug Shillelagh refit was complete in early 2017 and TowBoatU.S. Launch project is just wrapping up as you read this story. “Both of these boats fill specific needs within the company.” stated Director of Operations, Kevin Collins “We are happy that both boats are back in like new condition and ready to serve our customers safely and efficiently for the next decade.”
Tug Shillelagh was built specifically for towing large yachts in tight quarters. Her diminutive length of just 26’ combined with her twin John Deere diesel power and stout running gear make her the perfect asset for this work. TowBoatU.S. Launch serves in a couple capacities for the company. She is the primary launch vessel that transports crew and small cargo loads to ships passing South Florida or located within the local anchorages. She also serves as one of the company’s primary long range towing vessel for jobs up and down the coast and throughout the Bahamas. Kudos to Jeff and his crew for all of their hard work... great job!
