Hurricane Irma Photo Journal

After she thrashed the islands of the Caribbean, Hurricane Irma made landfall as a category 4 storm in the Florida Keys and went on to strike Marco Island with category 3 hurricane force winds. This was the strongest storm to strike the Atlantic since Hurricane Wilma in 2005. Interestingly, the effects of Irma were felt far from the storm’s center. The team at TowBoatU.S. Fort Lauderdale got busy shortly after the storm passed. The company suffered only minimal water damage to their headquarters located in Pompano Beach, Florida which made responding to customers their number one priority as soon as weather allowed. As you look at the before and after photos of a few of the boats that TowBoatU.S. Fort Lauderdale salvaged, keep in mind that these casualties occurred in an area that was over 90 miles from the eye of the storm!
