Has Added an A-Frame To Their 46' Work Boat
The crew at TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale has been hard at work in response to customer demand related to having the ability to deploy, tow and recover sonar equipment, arrays and other medium weight instruments at sea. The company has fabricated an A-Frame that can be mounted to the deck of their 46' work boat; they have also added a new hydraulic winch to their equipment inventory rounding out their ability to quickly and efficiently accomplish these tasks.
Director of Operations, Kevin Collins explains "we decided to add an A-Frame to this boat after several customers asked us to deploy and recover pieces of equipment weighing up to 1500 pounds in seas ranging from 2 to 4 feet. Our engineering staff designed fabricated and fitted the A-Frame to the boat over the past 30 days with great results. The addition of this gear should make the boat more useful to a variety of customers." The boat features a Volvo diesel powered pump providing hydraulic power to either a capstan or the new drum winch. The winch boasts over 1700 feet of .45" cable capacity, a slip ring which enables the use of data cable and an integrated level wind system. Barney Hauf, Director of Sales states "we welcome input from our customers regarding the need for new equipment or service offerings; your input has helped our company experience steady growth for the past 20 years. As long as we have the expertise and resources to help fill a need in the market, we will continue to make improvements like this with hopes that we can assist with all of your work boat charter needs."
