Unveils New Sunken Vessel Recovery Unit

Over the past several months, TowBoatU.S Ft. Lauderdale has been designing, fabricating and perfecting their new Sunken Vessel Recovery Unit. This piece of gear started as a brand new 2010 26 foot Pace enclosed trailer featuring a ramp door and electric brakes. The Fleet Operations staff started with an empty trailer and custom fabricated each shelf, Scuba Tank Rack, Lift Bag hook and equipment storage space, along with a custom work bench. This new trailer is both longer and wider than the unit it replaced which allowed the company to increase the inventory of specialized tools and equipment taken to each salvage job. A spray on bed liner was added to aid in the ease of cleaning and maintenance and custom graphics were applied to the exterior.

The result is a very valuable addition to TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale's asset list. The new Sunken Vessel Recovery Unit is used on each of the dockside salvages that the company undertakes. Over the 20+ years that the company has been in business, they have added equipment to their salvage trailer inventory as a result of lessons learned. Each piece of equipment helps the company to complete salvage operations efficiently and safely while minimizing additional damage to ensure post casualty value is preserved. This new trailer continues to strengthen the company's position of providing quality services in a prompt and professional manner to each of their customers.
