TowBoatU.S. New River Makes Becoming a Member Easy!
April 2009 marked the beginning of a new era for TowBoatU.S. New River. The company introduced a retail membership sales program allowing boat owners to walk into their local retailer and purchase a BoatU.S. Unlimited Membership. The membership retails for $149.00 and is available in over 90 outlets throughout Broward County. Barney Hauf, Director of Sales for TowBoatU.S. New River stated "In the past, boaters would have to call BoatU.S., call their local TowBoatU.S. provider or log on to the BoatU.S. website to purchase a membership. West Marine stores have been the only retail outlet for membership sales for several years and they continue to be a great place to purchase your membership. The addition of nearly 100 boat dealers, marine supply stores, marinas and other marine related businesses has helped to make purchasing an Unlimited BoatU.S. membership easier and more convenient than ever!"
BoatU.S. unlimited membership provides towing, soft ungrounding, fuel drops and jump starts free of charge. On the water breakdowns are covered 100% and dock to dock tows are covered 50%. The new Unlimited Gold membership is an inexpensive upgrade that costs only $41.00 more per year. The major advantage of the Unlimited Gold Membership is that it covers 100% of the cost of dock to dock tows. Both of these unlimited memberships cover the cost of towing from up to 137 miles from Port Everglades and there is no limit on the size of the vessel as long as it is owned and operated for recreational use. Another benefit of membership is that a member that owns a 120' Motor Yacht, a Contender Center Console, two Boston Whalers and 2 PWC's enjoys coverage for each of these vessels with one membership! All of these benefits include the peace of mind of knowing that you are working with a company with over 20 years of towing experience; staffed with captains that have towed thousands of Motor Yachts throughout South Florida and the Bahamas.
Here are a few examples of the benefits of Unlimited Membership:
- You enter Port Everglades in your 120' Motor yacht and the electronic controls for your Port engine begin to work intermittently; you are bound for a yard near I-95 on the New River. The tow from the turning basin to the yard would normally cost a non member over $1000.00; as an unlimited member, BoatU.S. would pay for this tow 100%!
- Your 164' Motor Yacht runs aground South of Las Olas Blvd Bridge in the ICW while you are bound for sea. The soft ungrounding charge and portal to portal tug charge for this job would normally cost a non member about $3800.00; as an unlimited member, BoatU.S. would pay 100% for this service!
- With an Unlimited Gold Membership, BoatU.S. will pick up 100% of the towing charges to get your boat from your home dock to a service facility for repair or haul out. This means that if you normally dock your boat in any of the Marinas along the ICW in Ft. Lauderdale and she becomes disabled at the dock and you are unable to get up the river under your own power for service, BoatU.S. will cover these charges 100%. Again, over a $1000.00 savings!
