Daily Launch Services Conducted out of
Port Everglades to M/V Yacht Express
In early 2008, TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale began providing launch services from Port Everglades, FL to the M/V Yacht Express; the newly launched, purpose built, yacht transfer ship for the Dockwise Yacht Transport fleet.
The launch operations ranged from crew and passenger changes two and three times daily to cargo transfer launches. Cargo varied in size from important ships' papers and small packages to 10,000 lb loads. We primarily used our newly repowered TowBoatU.S. Launch, a solidly built aluminum, 46' Winninghoff is equipped with a 1500lb capacity crane, custom fendering, and an air conditioned cabin. For larger deliveries we employed the Richard L. Becker, TowBoat U.S. Fort Lauderdale's 96' Offshore Supply Vessel with 7.5 ton, knuckle boom crane and US Coast Guard certification to carry up to 49 passengers, and 38 long tons of cargo.
One particular evening Towboat U.S. Ft. Lauderdale deployed 4 vessels to transfer the entire crew to shore for a crew dinner and returned them to the ship after the meal.
