TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale employee photo contest!
TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale wrapped up a six month long photo contest on June 30th 2012. The contest allowed each of the company's employees to get creative showing the crew in action. Captain George Bassett took the runner up award for his photo of a 46' Leopard catamaran that was dismasted on one of the local bridges. The company disconnected the rigging and delivered the mast to a trailer at their Dania Beach dock. The boat was subsequently towed to her home dock. The grand prize winner was Captain Russell Inman for his photo of a 135' sailing yacht that ran aground beneath 17th Street Causeway Bridge. The grounding stopped traffic on the bridge while the ungrounding operation took place. TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale used two of their powerful twin diesel tugs to move the vessel to the center of the channel and unground her. Russell was awarded an iPad for his efforts and George was awarded a $100.00 gift certificate to Sunglass hut. 100's of photos were submitted depicting the incredible things that happen each day at TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale.
