Miami Launch Services
The Port of Miami serves approximately 20 shipping lines that call on markets around the world. In 2010, there were 1,663 cargo ships moored within the port with a total cargo capacity of 847,249 TEU's. Even with all of this activity within the Port of Miami, many people who are not from South Florida have a misconception about the proximity of Miami to Fort Lauderdale. "People seem to think that Miami is the same as Fort Lauderdale when they are unfamiliar with our area," TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale's Captain Christian Denhard stated. "To clarify, Miami is approximately 25 miles south of Fort Lauderdale. By car, one can expect an average of a 30 minute drive. When traveling by boat, it depends on the type of vessel and how fast you want to arrive. Our company owns and operates a fleet of 12 boats ranging from high speed rigid hull inflatable boats to a 96' supply boat. for example, launch passengers embarking at our Base near Port Everglades can expect to arrive in the Miami anchorage in approximately two hours on our primary 46' launch boat" The use of the company's fast response RHIB boats will cut the transit time in half in the event that this becomes necessary. Of course there will be a tradeoff related to passenger comfort in these cases.
TowBoatU.S. Fort Lauderdale has built a reputation for providing prompt, safe and professional launch services in Port Everglades, but many people don't realize the availability of our services in Miami. "In some instances, a ship can save thousands of dollars utilizing launch services in lieu of calling on the Port," Barney Hauf, Director of Sales declared. "We can provide the same reliable service in Miami that we do in Fort Lauderdale 24 hours a day, 7 days week. If you have a ship that will be in the Miami Anchorage for an extended period of time, call me; we can arrange to relocate the home base for one of our boats to Miami Beach for the duration of their stay to help reduce transit costs" To learn more about TowBoatU.S. Ft.
