Cessna Plane
A Cessna aircraft went down approximately two miles east of Fort Lauderdale Airport, coming to rest in 25 feet of water. Divers rigged 3,000 lb lift bags to both the tail and prop shaft. Once secured, the bags were inflated to bring the aircraft to the surface. It was then towed alongside the Richard L. Becker, where four lifting straps were strategically positioned and connected to the vessel’s knuckle boom crane. The aircraft was hoisted from the water, secured to the deck, and transported back to the dock for offloading and inspection.
