TowBoatU.S Ft. Lauderdale Celebrates at Their Annual Holiday Party
Employees and their guests were treated to a night of delicious food, drinks and camaraderie at TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale's annual holiday party on Wednesday, December 18th. This year there were nearly 60 people in attendance. President Larry Acheson explains "This is the one night each year that our entire company comes together in one place for a few hours to relax and enjoy each other's company. We invite spouses or significant others to thank them for supporting our staff that is often asked to work unexpectedly long hours to help boaters in need. Our 24/7 operation precludes us from being able to host more events like this throughout the year so we are happy to hire and train contracted captains and crew to assist our customers for this one special night! It is a chance for me to say "Thank You" to a phenomenal group of people!"
This year's celebration was also marked by special acknowledgements for three of our staff. John Lepore has dedicated the last ten years to working the overnight shift from 10 P.M. until 8 A.M on our dispatch desk. His is the voice you will hear on most nights during this time if you hail TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale on your VHF radio. Brent Thompson was hired as a patrol captain with the company over ten years ago. His skill, patience, determination and love for the water have resulted in several promotions throughout the years, the most recent of which recently included a promotion to the position of North County Supervisor. Barney Hauf has been directing the Sales, Inventory and Personnel functions of the company for over ten years. Each of these individuals was awarded a wrist watch to commemorate their ten years of Service.
The evening was enjoyed by all and the entire crew is geared up to continue providing unsurpassed customer service in 2014 and beyond!
