Adams Moves on After Finding Her Calling While Working as a Dispatcher at TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale
TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale recently accepted a letter of resignation from Dispatcher Emma Adams. Director of Administration Chloe Collins noted “Emma came to work here while still going to school and with no marine industry experience and little boating knowledge. She had a great attitude from day one, learned quickly and became a trusted and beloved member of our team. I can speak for the whole crew when I say she will be missed. Emma has common sense, is cool under pressure and has natural empathy for the boating community that she served while performing her dispatch duties. She made it look effortless!”
Dispatching at a high volume towing and salvage company is not an easy job. On a busy Saturday afternoon, when the weather is perfect and the boating traffic is high, it can be borderline insane! It takes a special personality and great organizational skills to perform at the high level Emma did each day. What makes Emma’s resignation newsworthy is the career path that she chose. As a result of her time at the dispatch desk, she developed a passion for boating and for helping those in need. She will be heading off to basic training with the United States Coast Guard and will become a Boatswain’s Mate. She hopes to be stationed in Hawaii, California or North Carolina once she completes training. We wish her the best and know that she will do great things! The Coast Guard got a good one!
