Jamie Callaghan

Captain Jamie Callaghan came to TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale on a hunch that becoming a dispatcher might help keep her connected to her love for the water, boats and the boating lifestyle. She dipped her toe in the water by starting as a part timer. She soon realized that a TowBoatU.S. dispatcher is as connected to the boating world as any seasoned captain that makes their living on the water. With high site radios that connect the TowBoatU.S. dispatch desk to boaters throughout south Florida and the Bahamas, she quickly realized that she could keep her finger on the pulse of the regional recreational and commercial boating world while earning a living and helping others.

It didn’t take long until Jamie decided to turn this part time job into a career. She has come a long way since her 1st day on the job in July of 2014. Shortly after taking on a full time dispatch position, she was promoted to the role of Human Resources Administrator. Her daily responsibilities have grown as has her thirst for knowledge of how to attract the best and the brightest people for the company. Captain Callaghan’s other responsibilities are varied; they include crew scheduling, handbooks, manuals and event planning amongst many others. Of course she has her 100 ton Masters license and ran tour boats for years before coming to TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale...What else would you expect? With Jamie’s positive attitude and thoughtful approach to projects large and small, there is no telling what new responsibilities she will take on next.
