TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale is currently in the design and planning stages of adding an A-Frame to their 96' OSV Richard L. Becker. The plans include a lifting capacity of 8 tons with a height of approximately 16 feet. The A-frame will feature hydraulic rams allowing it to articulate for deployment and recovery and will be removable for jobs that require clear deck space. A large hauling winch will be matched to this new gear allowing the Richard L. Becker to fill a multitude of customer needs. "We have made a decision to build a large A-frame for the boat in an effort to expand her capabilities" States Barney Hauf, TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale's Director of Sales "We plan to begin fabrication within the next ninety days and we will keep our charter customers up to date as the project progresses. Our goal is to double the deployment and recovery capacity compared to our deck crane and expand our ability to work in less than ideal sea conditions" Look for updates related to this project in the near future.
